Lesson One
Gnosio : Manual : User Manual : Lesson One
Lesson I
Please follow the instructions below
Logging in and Adding an Issue
- Go to your office computer and open a web browser (like Netscape or
Internet Explorer) and go to:
/new-ticket/
- Type your work email address into the text box labeled "Your email
address"
- Type your last name backwards, all lower case letters, in the text box
labeled "password"
- Make certain that the "remember this password" check box remains checked.
- Press submit.
- Bookmark the page titled "Your Company Ticket Tracker" when you arrive, and
add it to Internet Explorer's favorites. You do this, in Internet Explorer,
by using the menu bar to go to "Favorites." Then select "Add to Favorites."
After you do this, it will be easy to arrive at this page any time by
simply returning to the favorites menu and selecting "Your Company Ticket
Tracker" (/new-ticket/).
- Think of a property that you just worked on right before you read this
email. Think of a specific issue with that property, one that you know will
need to be resolved.
- Now, in the "Your Company Ticket Tracker" web page, click on the text link
called "add a new issue."
- Select the property that you were thinking of from the pulldown menu and
press the button marked "continue." If the property is not there, then
speak with Cris about adding this property to your options, but hopefully
the property is already there and you can select it. If not, then select a
different property which has a specific issue that you know will need to be
resolved.
- Type the subject of the issue into the appropriate text box.
- Select a priority.
- Type in details about the issue into the big text box labeled
"message." Feel free to add plenty of text, or copy and paste text from
important emails on the subject. Or simply type summary of the details.
It's okay to return to Gnosio and to add more details later. I
n fact, that
is what Gnosio is for so we encourage it.
- Press submit.
- You will arrive at a page with the issue number. You can give this
number to your customers so that they know you have the issue logged in
your system and that it will be taken care of. You can also proceed to add
more issues or to check on the other issues that people have already added.
Every morning you will want to return to:
/new-ticket/
Moving on from Lesson I
Now that you've added an issue, it will appear in the main page which you
bookmarked in step 6 above.
/new-ticket/
Feel free to start adding all the issues to all the properties that you can
think of. When people call you with a new issue, go to Gnosio
and type it
directly into the box. Link issues to each other, and add your comments to
other people's issues, if needed. Add comments to your own issues, if
needed. Find out how to do all those things by trying the system, by asking
Cris, or by asking me. And remember, you can check Gnosio from
any web
browser in the world. Just remember:
Gnosio.
